Dragon Quest 2

The Graphics do suck, so I suggest you get the Super Famicom or the Gameboy Color version, both are collected in "Dragon Quest 1 & 2 Collections" the GBC Version was released in North America, while the SFC version is noly in japan.

Some notes:
*In the original DQ to enter doors, talk to people, and go down STAIRS(!) you had to do it from the option menu! What a pain! Thankfully it has been fixed in the Gameboy Color Version of DQ(DQ 1 & 2 Collection)

Dragon Quest 1&2 for the Super Famicom, which Includes Better Graphics which resemble Final fantasy 4(which still look very dated)

The Keith Courage saga

I did some research..and found out that Keith Courage was really popular in Japan.

Of course he was not named Keith... his name was Savior Wataru.

He spawned three TV shows, I'm not sure if they ever were translated into English, but they did translate it into French on the title of "Adrien sauveur du monde"
go to http://www.generiquestele.com/details_id-186_n-Adrien,sauveur,du,monde.htm for a little trailer.

I found that there is an RPG game(for the nes), 2 monster Simulation games(for the Gameboy), and one Dragon Warrior 7 esque Rpg for the PSOne.

All were released only in Japan, Keith Courage was the only game I believe that got released here.

More info:
You can find fansubs of the anime from:
http://www.lightshock-anime.com/
http://a.scarywater.net/lsa/
Search for Mashin.Eiyuuden.Wataru

The name of the nes RPG game is called:
Majin Eiyuu Den Wataru Gaiden

The name of the 2 Gameboy games are:

The PSOne version is called:

The Penny Arcade Remix Project

http://www.yukihime.com/comics/paremix/

This page contains Penny Arcade comics that were given, blank, to Japanese highschool English classes. The assignment was apparently to create an interesting conversation between the characters in these comics. Given the excellent expressions that the Penny Arcade comics often have, funny conversations were created.

Very Nice stuff!

Overhyped games

Here are a few:
Half-Life 2 -I give it a 6 out of 10
- Sucky multiplayer, not enough boss battles, enemies are reused way too much.
- Some say the replay value comes from user created mods... well most of the mods are multiplayer... and will not have any anti-cheating, just like Counter Strike Source.
-They promised me DoD;Source if you ordered the Special Edition box, like a year ago, and still its not realeased.
- Some scripted scenes did not work unless you try again.(most of these got fixed by a patch)
- Sucky Ending
- I just hate valve for not even giving old games like TFC(which still have over 1200 people playing) updates, even a simple update to fix what they have broken(Steam broke a bunch of maps, like Rock2)

It seems everyone liked this game. Its Perfect... right... they all got bought of by Valve.

God Of War - I give it a 7 out of 10
-Boring combay system, with button mashing all the way(some of the Quick Time Events are nice)
-Kind of short, but its alright as long as it has cool gameplay, which it does not. Only 3 bosses, one of them "sucks"
X-play gave it a perfect score, so did PSM.

Burnout 3 vs Gran Turismo 4

Burnout 3 - gets a 8 out of 10
-All the cars are almsot the same, some are useless and can only be used in Crash mode(Like trucks)
-Ghay Enemy A.I, which is practically non-existent,they just appear out of no-where
-Beutifull tracks, fast gameplay, online all these feautres are good, but I just though it was not perfect. After playing the later levels, the game gets very hard, all the trafic starts to straight at you, so you crash and cant never catch up, most the game is made up of Crash modes, theres like 100 of them.

Reviews in the run and X-Play gave it both perfect scores.

GT4 - gets a 8 out of 10
-Licence tests are impossible, I had the auto-pilot cheat on(gameshark) and still could not win most of the races, when I watched the computer play, he seemed to get a speed boost from out of nowhere.
-A.I is riding on rails, thats so 16 bit-mario kart....
-Great selection of cars and courses
-Dont care for online play, but i would suspect everyone would cheat, and use the "Auto Pilot" cheat. They always do.

X-play gave this game a 5 out of 5- Perfect
reviews on the run did not, and for once I agree with them.

This is the state of the gaming Industry right now, crappy games get overhyped, good games get low scores(Resident Evil Outbreak, which got like 4.5 out of 10 in PSM)

I beleive everyone has brain... so decided which games suits you yourself.

Resident Evil Outbreak: File 2

What an awesome experience.

First of all lets talk about the graphics.
They are jaw dropping, its not resident Evil 4,but its damn close.

First the attention to detail is off the charts, The reflections on the puddles, the moving trees from the wind, the varius grafiity that made the Original games famous. The backgrounds themselfs are nice.

There are 6 levels, the Training Level which is just basically the Outbreak level from File 1, then theres the Raccon Police Department, a Zoo, a Subway, and I dont want to spoil anymore so I'll stop there.

The enemies are the same old enemies from the first oubreak, plus a couple of new ones(like the fat Zombie-Elephant)

The Soundtrack is awesome as well, you got the main theme from the first outbreak, which in my opinion was an orchestrated masterpiece.

The ambieonce is amazing, some people say this game is not like the previous RE games, but I say you are all wrong! This game has everything that the prvious games, and more!

Anyways lets move on to the Gameplay portion.

This game is both Single Player and Online game.
In Single Player, you choose 2 A.I Partners(NPC's) which is awesome, since you could not do that in the first game.

The NPC's this time have theyre own personalities, and won't just appear out of nowhere, some like Yoko will follow you like a love sick puppy, others will wander around by themselfs, and then later on join you. And it seems that the NPC's A.I gets weaker with each Harder Difficulty settings.

The NPC do not realy get in your way(well sometimes, when Yoko takes all the items she can find(for better or for worse)) and you can unlock Solo Mode to play the alone without any NPC's, just like in the original.

I have not tried the Online portion of the game, since I have just begun playing, and don't want to look like a total noob. But I enjoyed the first game online tremendously, so I do not think this game will any different.

One thing that amzed me about this game...something that i have never seen before is Forward Compability!

This game is backwards Compatible with File 1, meaning you can use all your aquired costumes from that game.
But! You can also use costumes aquired from File 2 in File1!

I give this game....(using Reviews on the Run style rating system)

10 out of 10

Pro's:
Awesome Survival Horror experience
Great Sound Effects
Spectacular graphics
Un-matched replay value

Con's
Some people want a better way to communicate online.(Not me!)

Bandai and Namco to Merge

I just checked my daily Japantimes newsletter, and found something intresting...

It seems that Bandai(Makers of a bunch of Dragonball Z games, and various other anime games) will join forces with Namco(the creators of Tekken series,Pacman,Ridge Racer,Katamari Damacy)

Namco is also creating a new Startegy/Rpg called Namco X Capcom.
If they ever realese a sequel to Namco X Capcom, they could include characters from other Anime.

I wonder... Goku vs Paul vs Dante
